Dear Class of 2029, Transfer, 3-2 and Exchange Students,
We are delighted that you will be joining us in Fall 2025, and look forward to meeting you as you embark on this exciting chapter of your academic and personal growth. Our orientation program is designed to provide you with the essential tools, resources, and support to thrive.
Throughout orientation, you'll have the opportunity to connect with fellow students, faculty members, and staff who are dedicated to your success. From navigating campus resources to discovering extracurricular opportunities, our goal is to ensure that you feel empowered to make the most of your time at Caltech.

New Student Orientation Week is Sunday, September 21 to Friday, September 26, 2025
Sunday, September 21 | Move-In Day
For students moving into Caltech Housing on Sunday, September 21, check-in hours begin 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (PDT). We ask that students and families plan their travel to campus accordingly. There will be staff members and student volunteers available to assist with the move-in process. Additional instructions about move-in day will be sent to students and families in early September 2025.
Students who arrive early for First-Year Success Research Institute (FSRI), fall athletics, international student orientation, and other approved academic programs will move-in to campus early, please refer to communication from those groups for more information on specific dates related to each program.
Orientation programs for new students begin after 2:30 p.m. that same day.
Sunday, September 21 through Friday, September 26 | New Student Orientation Programming
During orientation week, incoming students are fully immersed in the Caltech community and learn important information about resources and support systems that assist students in navigating the academic and co-curricular experience. Orientation programming supports new students in building a sense of community, forming connections with their peers, and gaining familiarity with student resources and services.
First-year, transfer, 3/2 and exchange students are required to attend orientation programming. Orientation takes place on the Caltech campus.
