First-Year Caltech Connectors

First-Year Caltech Connectors (FCCs), also known as orientation leaders, are fellow undergrads who are here to help you feel at home at Caltech. They've gone through the first-year experience themselves, so they understand the fast-paced academic schedule, the challenges of adjusting to college, and the questions that naturally come up. Your FCCs are here to help you navigate all of it, whether you're looking for advice, study tips, or simply want to hear what helped them during their own transition.

During Orientation Week, you'll meet your FCCs for the first time and participate together in social events, icebreakers, and team-building activities designed to help you meet new people and start building your community. They'll be leading activities, checking in with you, and making sure you feel supported and connected. Many students cite their FCCs as one of the highlights of Orientation Week—we can't wait for you to meet yours this fall!
