Your transition to Caltech begins well before you arrive on campus. Throughout the summer, the First-Year Experience team will provide information, resources, and opportunities to help you prepare for your first year.

New Student Handbook

A comprehensive resource designed to help you prepare for your first year at Caltech. The handbook includes information about academics, campus life, resources, policies, and what to expect as a new student.

Virtual Information Sessions

Join us throughout the summer for virtual sessions covering important topics and resources for new students. These sessions are an opportunity to learn more about Caltech and ask questions before you arrive on campus.

New Student To-Do List

Keep track of important tasks and deadlines throughout the summer. Your to-do list will include academic requirements, campus resources, forms, and other steps to help you prepare for your arrival.

Orientation Week

At Caltech, New Student Orientation is a week-long experience designed to help you settle into campus, meet your classmates, explore Caltech, and begin building your community.

Throughout the week, you'll participate in activities, events, and sessions that introduce you to Caltech's academic and co-curricular life, traditions, campus resources, and the people who make up the campus community.

We can't wait to welcome you to campus!

Family Orientation

Families are an important part of the Caltech community, and we're excited to welcome them to campus, too.

New Family Orientation is a half-day program held during move-in day that introduces families to the Caltech community and provides an overview of the resources, services, and support available to students.

Families will also have opportunities to connect with campus leaders, staff, and other Caltech families as they prepare for this exciting transition.
